Sonos Play:3

Sonos-Play-3I have been searching for a while for a new Audio system in my home. I have an OK amp, which is by now 25 years old or so. A high-end CD play, same story, and a couple of good old-fashioned speakers, good sounds, but bulky, takes up a lot of space and all not very high-tech anymore. I want to stream audio anywhere in my house, home teatre, and of course the gadgets to control and monitor remotely via my phone or tablet or so. I did a bit of research and came across Sonos solutions, and I decided to buy the Play:3.  A nice and white one.

Out-of-the box, it has a fairly simple setup guide. Indeed, if you have a wifi at home and you know how to setup devices on your Wlan, then this should not be a problem at all. App installed on my phone, and all shows it’s way quite well.

Now the tricky part is the music itself. I don’t like to pay for anything more then I have to, so I have only the free Spotify account, and that doesn’t work. You must have a premium account. Then I tried TunedIn, this works well and easily, free account and I am happy and can listen to my music. The kids not happy, as they use Spotify, and not any Premium account!

The sounds itself is actually really good. Not if you want to listen very loud in your living room. Then my old pair of speakers & amp are still much better. But having nice background, easy listening music, that is absolutely perfect!

Other features I haven’t tried yet, but so far it has been fulfilling my expectations. The strength I suspect will come if you have more Sonos devices. I am considering buying also a Sonos  Playbar or Play Base and maybe even another Sonos play 3 or so. Lets see!
