Sony HDR CX560VE

Sony HDR CX560VEIn 2011 I was looking again for a new Camera, and this time I wanted a full HD camera. As I have always been for the 11 years before that always had camera’s (see my other posts) where the camera has cassettes, it dawned on me that as of FullHD recording, normal tape is not an option any more. So, either go to the professional lines, or go with recording on internal memory or memory cards. As size matters to me, I am looking for a relatively small camera, but still superior quality. Doing my due-diligent, I came across the Sony HDR CX560VE. I bought it, and meanwhile have been shooting more then 5 years with it, and as a short conclusion I am happy!

Some negatives:

  • Connecting the camera to the PC, you can easily download the files. Also the accompanied program “Media Go” is not so bad. BUT, you cannot remove or delete any files from your PC. You can only delete files via the camera itself, which is very inconvenient. Even the previous camera could do it, but not this one??
  • After a couple of years, I noticed funny squeaking background noises. After a while I found out what it is. The Zoom button as well the start/stop button make a funny noise when operated. When editing, I can usually cut it out, but still it is freaking annoying!
  • Slow motion – great I thought! Finally a camera with Slowdown feature… yeah, max a few seconds!! That’s no use!
